PLUS is hiring for an associate-level position within its Competitive Intelligence practice. The person will join a specialized team that contributes to the firm's public affairs, communications and political work. The position offers significant room for professional growth and those who succeed have a can-do spirit and a constant curiosity to learn.
This is an in-office position Monday through Thursday in our Arlington, VA office with an option for remote work on Fridays.

Responsibilities:
- Putting together daily news clips and real-time news alerts
- Providing research support for client deliverables such as research books and backgrounders
- Reviewing public records, news coverage, legislation and court documents
- Conducting bias analyses and vetting individuals, businesses and others
- Identifying, pulling and cataloging news stories and video clips on issues of the day
- Preparing information and resources for new business pitches
- Executing special projects as required
- 0-2 years of relevant experience in communications or opposition research (including internships)
- Keen eye for detail and strong research, writing and editing skills
- Knowledge of research databases and methods (Lexis Advance, IQ Media, Critical Mention, FEC, etc.)
- Previous experience in RNC-style formatting and AP style
- Understanding of local, regional and national politics and current events
- Willingness to work for a variety of clients including corporations, issue advocacy groups, political candidates and committees
- Proven ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and work as part of a team to seamlessly execute goals
- A strong work ethic and willingness to work occasional nights and weekends
