JOB OVERVIEW :
The General Education Technology Paraprofessional provides student technology support for their assigned school(s). This includes helping students troubleshoot issues with their district-assigned Chromebooks and iPads. The General Technology Paraprofessional maintains the student device inventory for the assigned school(s) and is responsible for the distribution and collection of these devices.
QUALIFICATIONS :
1. High school graduate or equivalent.
2. General knowledge / experience with technology systems, preferred :
a. Devices, such as Chromebooks and iPads
b. Online services, such as Google Workspace for Education (Google)
c. Student Information system MISTAR
3. Experience troubleshooting technology, preferred.
4. Good organizational skills and ability to be self-directed.
5. Ability and willingness to learn how to use new technical systems.
6. Ability to work well with others.
7. Ability to manage projects and collaboratively implement procedures.
8. Possess effective written / oral communication skills with staff, students, and parents.
9. Ability to maintain confidential information.
10. Able to walk throughout a building and among buildings and lift up to 35 pounds.
11. Good attendance record.
RESPONSIBILITIES :
1. First responder to student Chromebook and / or iPad problems.
2. Supports district one-to-one technology device program.
3. Works with other district paraprofessionals on technology-related issues.
4. Attends required trainings and meetings.
5. Bending, lifting, and overhead work required.
6. Assists and performs other tasks and duties as assigned.
7. May support student supervision as needed.
8. Provides clinic / first aid / medication support to students.

Upon recommendation for employment, Section 1230g, as amended, of the Revised School Code requires all school employees to be electronically finger printed for the purpose of undergoing a criminal history background check. The fingerprinting is conducted by a third party and is at the expense of the applicant. Cost for fingerprinting is approximately $70.00.
