Plymouth County Family Support is hiring direct support staff to work part-time with young adults with developmental disabilities on a 1 -1 basis during the week/weekends.
Job Description:
As a direct support professional, your goal is to encourage skill building and independence. This position will provide individualized support to individuals participating in home-based or community-based activities, helping them to learn or strengthen daily living skills, independent living skills and community living skills.
This may include behavioral support, personal hygiene tasks, chores, meal preparation, money management, using the library, making a purchase at a store, navigating public transportation, or participating in a group-based community setting such as a gym or swim program, volunteer opportunity, etc.
We are looking for experienced staff such as direct support professionals, teachers, paraprofessionals, registered behavior technicians and/or college students with significant experience supporting young adults with developmental disabilities and/or autism.
Job Requirements:
- Be at least 18.
- Valid driver license.
- Access to an insured vehicle to use for work purposes (we reimburse mileage)
- Soft Skills, such as: patience, punctuality, empathy, and good judgement.
- Personal and/or professional experience supporting people with disabilities, especially those with behavioral support needs.
- High School Diploma or GED Certificate
- Compensation: $22.00- $24.00 per hour
