1 Full Time Preschool Speech and Language Therapist

? Part of an interdisciplinary team to support area preschools
? Conduct initial special education evaluations in community daycare/preschool settings, write reports and
IEPs
? Provide Speech and Language services to students as written in their IEPs
? Collect Data and progress monitor
? Meet weekly with community providers and district staff
? Collaborate/coaching with community preschool staff
? Attend 2-3 planning meetings over the summer
? Additional responsibilities
Qualifications:
? Appropriate credentials for position being sought
? Previous experience working as a preschool special education teacher
? Maintains a valid Massachusetts DESE licensure that is appropriate for the
grade level and subject area assigned. (Bachelor’s degree or higher from an accredited
college or university.)
? Proven ability to relate to a variety of constituencies, including but not limited to:
administrators, parents, teachers, students, other school staff and visitors.
? Possess good communication skills both verbal and written.
? Demonstrated aptitude or competence for assigned responsibilities.
? A sense of humor and a proven ability to work in a polite and friendly manner with all
? staff members, students, and with the larger educational community.
? Such alternative to the above qualifications as the school department may find
? appropriate and acceptable.
? Performs other related tasks and assumes other related responsibilities from time to
time as assigned by the Principal and/or Program Manager.
