Job Description: Lab Engineer, Jr.
Summary:
The entry level Lab Engineer (Jr.) will participate within a team of technicians and process engineers to help manufacture and develop production optics. Detail oriented adept graduate with a strong desire to learn from our experienced team, who will grow with PGL in the optics industry
What You Do:
- Learn collaboratively alongside lab technicians, and help the team manufacture gratings
- Support lithography and high-vacuum chamber processes, troubleshooting and development
- Participate, when necessary, in equipment maintenance and repair
- Provide general support for manufacturing equipment maintenance and repair
- Develop and utilize the skills needed to participate in further scale up of production equipment and processes
- Possibility of, but not required, travel to partner site overseas for production coating requirements
Qualifications:
- Attention to detail, strong ability to focus
- Ability to work in a dynamic environment with a self-starter character
- A general interest in chemistry a plus
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Interest in optics, manufacturing, semiconductors, and high-vacuum chamber equipment
Experience and Education:
- Entry level, recent graduate
- Education: 2-year Associate's Degree with strong interest in science, or recent B.Sc. graduate
