PURPOSE OF THE JOB
The Housekeeper is responsible for maintaining the areas assigned in a clean and sanitary manner following Plymouth Harbor policies and procedures.
Shift: Part Time 2nd shift
DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES
Clean assigned areas, as directed.
Maintain furniture in assigned areas in the pre-determined pattern.
Office cleaning to include vacuuming, sweeping, mopping, dusting, restrooms, emptying trash, clean windows, clean fixtures, stocking toilet tissue, paper towels and soap as necessary.
Clean mirrors, ledges, vents, light fixtures, fire extinguisher, cabinets, baseboards, bathroom fixtures and corners. Vacuum carpet and dust blinds.
Clean wellness equipment, clean laundry equipment, clean art studio, clean chapel.
Use proper chemicals in various duties as instructed by supervisor.
Report any unsafe conditions or items in need of repair.
Keep all dispensers stocked with toilet tissue, paper towels, and soap, as necessary.
Follow established cleaning procedures as directed by immediate supervisor.
Re-stock housekeeping cart at the end of the shift with proper linens, chemicals, or supplies as job dictates.
Clean floors with proper equipment, including vacuum sweepers, dust mops, damp mops, or sponge mops as directed by immediate supervisor.
Empty and re-line all trash receptacles in assigned areas.
Handle soiled/clean linen as instructed by supervisor.
Work safely, complying at all times with Plymouth Harbor safety standards.
Call 555 in the event of an emergency.
Discharge properly other responsibilities and duties that may be directed by manager.
Maintain work area, equipment, and supplies in a clean, sanitary, and organized manner. Ensure that work areas are neat and confidential materials are properly stored before leaving area on breaks, end of workday, etc.
Work safely, complying at all times with Plymouth Harbor safety standards.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITY
This position has no supervisory responsibilities.
QUALIFICATIONS
Education:
Less than a high school education is acceptable.
Experience:
Minimum one year employment as a housekeeper in a hotel, resort, or CCRC environment, or as a private housekeeper.
General:
Must have good organizational skills.
Must be a detail-oriented person and able to perform duties with great accuracy on a daily basis.
Must have excellent personal skills, demonstrating the ability to conduct oneself in a non-controversial style; a style that inspires the respect of others and promotes a sense of trust in the individual’s competence.
Must have good communication skills, speaking, writing, and listening.
Must be fluent in English.
CERTIFICATES/LICENSES/REGISTRATIONS
This position does not require any certificate/license/registration.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
Must possess fully functioning sense of sight/hearing or use prosthetics that will enable these senses to function adequately in order to do the job
Must be able to sit, stand, walk and move throughout the workday (lifting, carrying, bending, squatting, reaching, kneeling, pushing, pulling, twisting) using good body mechanics.
Must be able to lift/push up to 50 pounds.
Must be able to cope with the physical and emotional demands of the position.
