What are the responsibilities and job description for the Development Coordinator position at Plymouth Philharmonic Orchestra?
Position Overview:
The Plymouth Philharmonic Orchestra (the Phil) is seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented Development Coordinator to support and implement fundraising strategies that advance the organization’s mission. This position will play a key role in donor engagement, annual fund campaigns, grants, and special events. The Development Coordinator will work closely with the Executive Director, Marketing Manager, and Director of Development and Audience Engagement to enhance donor relations, increase philanthropic support, and ensure the long-term sustainability of the Phil.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist in planning and executing individual giving, and donor stewardship programs.
- Manage donor records, acknowledgments, and engagement efforts to cultivate and retain supporters.
- Support grant writing efforts, including research, proposal development, and reporting.
- Coordinate donor communications, including solicitation letters, impact reports, and digital fundraising campaigns.
- Plan and execute special fundraising events, including logistics, sponsorships, invitations, and post-event follow-ups.
- Work collaboratively with marketing to align messaging and branding across fundraising initiatives.
- Maintain and update donor databases and track fundraising progress using CRM Spektrix.
- Assist in managing donor benefits and recognition programs.
- Answer phones when in the office and assist with general inquiries, including selling tickets.
- Provide support for Phil concerts and events, ensuring a welcoming and engaging experience for donors and patrons.
- Perform other duties as assigned to support development and fundraising efforts.
Qualifications:
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in fundraising, development, or a related field.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to build relationships and engage donors effectively.
- Experience with donor databases and CRM software (Spektrix preferred).
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, Google Suite, and Dot digital or related software.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Event planning and execution experience a plus.
- Passion for the arts and the mission of the Plymouth Philharmonic Orchestra.
- Availability to work some evenings and weekends for concerts and special events.
