Overview:
The Plymouth Philharmonic Orchestra (the Phil) is seeking a Marketing Manager responsible for planning, supervising, administering, and evaluating programs designed to generate ticket sales and revenue for orchestra concerts and events. This position ensures maximum visibility of the Plymouth Philharmonic Orchestra while aligning with the organization’s policies and long-term objectives. The Marketing Manager is required to be present at all concerts and events. For concert or event weeks requiring extra hours, the Marketing Manager will be compensated accordingly, with scheduling adjustments made in coordination with the Executive Director to align with budgeted hours.
Essential Skills & Qualifications:
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Proficiency in Dot Digital or similar email marketing platforms.
- Ability and willingness to work collaboratively as part of a team.
- Exceptional attention to detail.
- Experience with website editing and social media management.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and Google Suite.
Key Responsibilities:
Marketing & Ticket Sales Strategy:
- Develop and implement ticket sales campaigns with Director of Audience Development and Engagement to increase revenue.
- Design and manage print and electronic advertising efforts.
- Create and execute special promotions with Director of Audience Development and Engagement to boost ticket sales.
Branding & Communications:
- Maintain consistent branding and messaging across all materials.
- Oversee the development and production of marketing materials, including brochures, print ads, posters, signage, electronic media, press releases, newsletters, and program books.
- Ensure a unified and strategic approach to marketing efforts.
- Manage website updates and social media content.
- Collaborate on the season brochure and create flyers.
- Sell tickets using Spektrix.
- Manage media advertisements.
- Secure advertisers for the program books each season.
- Answer phones when in the office and assist with general inquiries.
Budget & Planning:
- Develop and monitor a comprehensive marketing plan each season, incorporating strategies, budgets, timelines, and target markets.
- Adjust strategies throughout the season to maximize attendance and visibility.
- Assist the Executive Director in establishing marketing goals.
Concert & Event Support:
- Attend orchestra concerts and events, serving as a liaison to the media and public.
- Provide on-site marketing and promotional support as needed.
