Job Description
Hingham Public Schools seeks an exceptional elementary teacher who is highly qualified and knowledgeable to join our community of teachers, learners, and leaders.
Qualifications
-Education: Hold a Bachelor’s degree or Master’s degree in Education, preferred
-Hold a Massachusetts Teaching License in Elementary Education, preferred
-Meets all state and federal guidelines in order to be fully licensed and Highly Qualified, preferred
-Current authorization to work in the United States - Candidates must have such authorization by their first day of employment, required.
-Excellent written and oral communication, required.
-Ability to use technology effectively, required.
-SEI Endorsed or ESL certified, preferred
-Current knowledge of implementation of the Massachusetts Curriculum Frameworks/Standards for the elementary grades, preferred.
Responsibilities
-Creatively provide an interdisciplinary course of study that integrates reading, writing, and analytical skills development in alignment with the Massachusetts Curriculum Frameworks/Standards for core content areas.
-Provide for differentiated instruction to meet the needs of all learners, including students with disabilities and English learners.
-Create a developmentally appropriate, child-centered environment that establishes positive student behavioral expectations conducive to all learners' needs through structured routines and positive behavioral interventions.
-Establish a classroom structure that values positive relationships through the intentional implementation of an appropriate curriculum.
-Provide an equitable and inclusive learning environment that is responsive to all learners and their families.
-Partner with families to create strong two-way communication.
-Regularly partner and plan with grade-level and school teams to provide the best educational program possible for all students.
-Collaborate and communicate with all colleagues to positively contribute to the school culture.
-Provide opportunities for the integration of technology into the classroom.
-Administer and analyze district and state formative and summative assessments in accordance with district guidelines. Apply assessment data in planning for the differentiated needs of students.
-Responsible for other job-related duties as needed.
