Under supervision of program director, plan, organize, evaluate, coordinate, and manage activities for Student and Academic Support.
Duties/ Responsibilities
- Develop and coordinate program activities and long-range educational plans for TRIO Student Support Services, including TRIO Connection Days and the TRIO Scholars Mentoring Program.
- Plan, teach, and facilitate Tackling Wicked Problem class and weekly educational sessions.
- Coordinate and lead cultural trips and experiences.
- Plan, implement, and evaluate mentor training; maintain College Reading & Learning Association (CRLA); and track mentor certification requirements.
- Create assessment tools and collect and analyze data to evaluate and improve program effectiveness.
- Provide individualized personal, social, career, and academic counseling, including financial literacy; assistance in completing financial aid applications; assist students in applying for graduate school enrollment.
- Collaborate with and support the PASS Office staff; maintain familiarity with other functions of PASS.
- Attend university orientation sessions, accepted student days, & provide direct liaison with students, educational personnel, & the community regarding department services & support.
- Enter program and participation data to database systems for grant-related collection and reporting.
- Master's degree, preferably in education or human services, and two years experience in counseling and/or related work in planning, organizing and evaluating educational programs or Bachelor's degree and four years of related experience as indicated
- Experience working with post-secondary students who are low-income, first generation, and/or students with disabilities.
- Experience with program planning, student engagement, and retention
- Must be available for some nights and weekends
- Strong computer skills (MSOffice).
- Administrative ability.
- Strong human relations and communications skills.
- Experience working with TRIO programs
- Teaching experience in higher education·
