POSITION SUMMARY
The Human Resource Business Manager provides a broad range of strategic and tactical HR services to the business area(s) they support. Working in partnership with the Plant Manager and site leads, this role addresses operational, talent, and talent lifecycle-related issues, including change management, organizational development, culture, employee relations, workforce planning, talent growth, development, and coaching. As a business partner, the HR Manager proactively translates the group's business strategies into effective HR solutions to support the team's strategic objectives.
ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES
- Designs strategies to enhance organizational, operational, and people strategies.
- Customizes HR, talent management, and operational solutions to address specific business needs and improve performance.
- Establishes and maintains collaborative, credible, and trusting partnerships across a range of internal and external groups.
- Enables productive labor / management operations.
- Collaborates with cross-functional subject-matter experts to design and execute shared operational and talent strategies.
- Provides expertise, resources, and services to support customers and organizational goals.
- Connects teams with appropriate business strategies, HR strategies, practices, and solutions through understanding of business objectives and needs.
- Applies data analytics and reporting to guide Mill Leaders in insightful decision-making.
- Simplifies complex information into key insights, clear recommendations, and actionable plans.
- Manages challenging conversations and interactions.
- Coaches and develops leaders and managers in effective people management.
- Oversees the annual performance management process.
- Administers leave of absence and adherence to time-off policies.
- Resolves employee relations issues and addresses job performance concerns.
- Supports the recruitment process for salaried and hourly positions as needed.
Supervisory Responsibilities
May supervise a HR generalist, assistant, or administrator. Provides leadership and mentors teams as needed.

While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts, heavy equipment, and stored energy in the form of pneumatic, hydraulic, mechanical, electrical, and gravitational energy. Due to manufacturing technologies utilized in the area common contaminants such as dirt, dust, grease, oil steel chips and water will be present. The noise level on the production floor is above 85 dcB and hearing protection is required, when on the production floor. When on the production floor the employee is frequently exposed to wet and / or humid conditions, extreme cold and extreme heat. Also, may be exposed to fumes or dust.
