About the Role
The successful candidate will be responsible for:
- Preparing orders to the highest standard, following approved portions, recipe specifications, and timing guidelines.
- Storing, dating, and rotating ingredients according to 'first in, first out' standards.
- Labelling food correctly.
- Maintaining knowledge of kitchen operations.
- Ensuring the kitchen and workstations are clean and sanitary.
- Cleaning and washing utensils and dishes.
- Sweeping and mopping floors.
- Implementing all hygiene and Health & Safety regulations.
- Assisting fellow team members as needed.
- Contributing to other restaurant tasks as required.
- Performing other related duties assigned by management.
Key Requirements
To succeed in this role, you will need:
- At least 1 year of experience as a cook in the restaurant industry.
- A high level of organization, with the ability to prepare orders accurately.
- The ability to read and follow standardized recipes.
- ServeSafe Certification is preferred.
Physical Demands
This role requires:
- Standing and/or walking for 100% of the time.
- The ability to lift, balance, and carry trays of food weighing up to 25 pounds, occasionally up to 50 pounds.
- Working in changing temperatures that may exceed 90 degrees or below 30 degrees.
