The Senior Lab Planner Architect role is an exciting opportunity to join PM Group’s quickly growing Philadelphia area team out of Conshohocken, PA. We are sharing knowledge, learning, growing, and continuing to be an integral part of supporting PM Group’s ongoing expansion in the US. Our office is executing cutting-edge projects for Cell & Gene Therapy, Biologics, and Pharma facilities - from feasibility through to qualification - for both local and international clients. Together with our clients and partners, we will deliver projects that improve the everyday lives of people across the globe.
This is a senior-level career position and we are looking for an Architect who enjoys client interaction as well as the technical aspects of the position. This individual needs to have an understanding of the technical aspects of Lab Planning Architectural design. The ability to successfully manage multiple real-time complex projects. The Senior Lab Planner will maintain a strong work ethic and deliver for PM Group clients as a collaborative colleague. They will collaborate with other Architects and Project Specialists across the business. This individual will lead and execute early phases of design including initial programming, planning, feasibility and concept development. Knowledge of International Building Codes is required. The Senior Lab Planner will also be involved with mentoring less experienced team members. Project sizes will vary and will consist primarily of life science industry work doing both existing building improvements and new construction.

Responsibilities
- Supporting projects in the following areas:
- Research & Discovery (R&D) laboratories in the Life Sciences sector
- Development labs in the Life Sciences sector
- Vivarium’s
- Other industry sectors
- Assist with the development of project resource plans and the pricing for proposals within the architectural discipline
- Present PM Group qualifications to new and existing clients
- Meet with clients to assess needs and develop an associated project program
- Develop conceptual designs and coordinate with engineers on the design team
- Participate in client interviews and presentations
- Liaison with global key accounts as appropriate
- Present and interface with clients and facilitate workshops
- Act as a Lab Planner in early project phases (i.e. ideally site master planning, feasibility, concept and basic design phases)
- Break problems down to their essence, demonstrate problem solving skills and innovate
- Travel to Project meetings / workshops as required
- Technically assist project teams as required
- Mentor junior architectural staff and assist with their professional development
- Assist with project proposal preparation for the architectural discipline
- Special projects as needed
- 10 years of experience within the life sciences industry is required
- Proficiency in Revit, AutoCAD, Navisworks, Bluebeam Revu and the Microsoft Office Suite is required
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, and an ability to work within a multi-discipline team environment
- Excellent commercial skills with the ability to manage projects to budget hours
- Registered Architectural licensure (RA) is encouraged
- A Bachelor’s of Architecture or a Bachelor’s of Science in Architecture required
- NCARB Certification is preferred
- Experience with Science &Technology (S&T) projects is preferred ( Research & Development {R&D} labs, biotechnology, pharmaceutical, food & nutrition and/or consumer products)
- Knowledge of cGMPs is preferred
- The flexibility and willingness to travel (moderately) to meet client and project requirements, speaking engagements, industry events, etc.
