We're looking for an evening kitchen supervisor who will supervise the culinary team and assist with the planning, ordering or production of food items pertaining to the respective section(s) of the food and beverage outlet or kitchen. This individual will prepare meals in accordance with portion and quality standards, maintain sanitation standards in the food prep areas that meet the state and local Health Board inspection and hotel requirements. This is a full-time, on-site non-exempt position that reports to the Kitchen Manager.

Pay Range: $19.00-$20.00 Hourly

What You’ll Do

  • Monitor performance and recommend disciplinary or other staffing/human resources-related actions in accordance with company rules and policies. Alert management of potentially serious issues.
  • Supervise day-to-day activities of culinary team; schedule employees to ensure proper coverage.
  • Provide instruction to less experienced culinary staff. Check the methods of preparation, portion, sizes, and timeliness of food preparation; control food usage to minimize waste.
  • Assist in the supervision of day-to-day operation of the kitchen as needed; check the methods of preparation, portion, sizes, and timeliness of food preparation; control food usage to minimize waste
  • Ensure the security and proper storage of kitchen inventory and equipment,
  • Perform opening, closing and prep work duties.
  • Maintain sanitation standards in the kitchen that meet the state and local Health Board inspection and hotel requirements.
  • Assist in determining the minimum and maximum stocks of all food, material and equipment.
  • Assist in creating and testing new recipes and menu design.
  • Assist in inspecting the cleanliness of the line floor and all kitchen stations. Maintain and strictly abide by proper storage procedures and state sanitation and health regulations. Notify Maintenance of any needed repairs.
  • May serve as Kitchen Manager in his/her absence as required.


What We're Looking For

  • Communication skills are utilized a significant amount of time when interacting with other culinary staff, wait staff, and guests.
  • Mathematical skills, including basic math, budgeting, profit/loss concepts, percentages, and variances are utilized frequently.
  • Reading and writing abilities are utilized often when giving and receiving instructions and preparing recipes
  • Alcohol awareness certification and/or food service permit or valid health/food handler card as required by local or state government agency.
  • Open availability required. Must be prepared to work various shifts (evenings, weekdays, weekends, holidays).

While this is a salaried position, be prepared to accommodate varying schedules including nights, weekends, and holidays, as required. This position will require moving self in different positions to accomplish tasks in various environments. The position may require moving greater than 50% of the time and lifting up to 50 pounds.
