Apparel Textile Designer

Job Description:

This job is based in Minneapolis, MN area - must be able to work in our office in Minnetonka, MN. It is Hybrid with a couple of days in the office each week.

The Textile Designer is responsible for providing artwork for sleepwear garments, in Women’s, Men’s, and Kids categories for multiple brands. With the support of the Design Manager, the Textile Designer is responsible for developing trends, color palettes, and original artwork through collaboration with Designers, Retail Partners, and our Overseas office. The Textile Designer will communicate directly with both our domestic team and the overseas team to create artwork that is both trend right and meets the aesthetic of each brand. It is the responsibility of the Textile Designer to present their artwork in meetings with external clients and make revisions as they are requested. This position requires an individual with strong knowledge of textile art in apparel with the ability to translate trend into new ideas creating relevant artwork for the brands it supports. Specific duties are listed below. 

Job Duties:

• Design print & pattern artwork detailing specifications of color and repeat sizes for fabric mass production while remaining within targeted retails.
• Collaborates with design team and actively participates in the development process from design ideation, sampling, and approvals.
• Accurately interpret and represent design and/or client ideas through quality artwork in a quick turn setting.
• Effectively communicates all print techniques to domestic team and overseas team.
• Prepare and present trend, color, and market insights to customers.
• Review and revise artwork as feedback is received from team and clients.
• Communication and interaction with overseas office by providing clear direction for artwork and answering questions on techniques.
• Actively participate in milestone meetings, providing insight and support on artwork.
• Preparing CADs
• Performs these and other duties as assigned.

Qualification:

• 3 years of applicable experience in the apparel and textile design industry
• BA or BS in Graphic Art or Apparel Design
• Successful experience in medium or large size company or successful experience working with a medium or large company/client.

·        Intermediate to advanced drawing skills and strong knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite

·        Knowledge of apparel printing capabilities and processes

·        Knowledge of 3D garment visualization technology, preferably CLO 3D

Additional Information

Pay range for this position is $55,000-$70,000 annually.

The pay range includes a monthly commission payment.

Job is on site a few days a week, with work from home opportunities.
