What You’ll Do:
With all the numbers and forecasts and spreadsheets flying around the accounting department every day, we need someone to manage all day-to-day activities. As the Accounts Payable Manager, you’ll be responsible for educating associates on corporate policy, reviewing the work of accounting associates, and much more.
Here’s a more in-depth look at what you’ll be doing on a daily basis:
- Daily bookkeeping and record keeping.
- Financial reporting and preparation of tax records for financial audits.
- Making payments owed by the company to suppliers and other creditors.
- Paying vendor invoices or bills.
- Recording the company’s short-term debts
- Communicate and train properties on Accounting Procedures.
- Oversees reports regarding cash flow; ensures correct payments are made in a timely manner.
- Develops guidelines for proper handling and coding of invoices to maintain general ledger expense account and inventory records.
- Analyzes expense reports and other invoices for accuracy and eligibility for payment.
- Verifies payments before controllers signature is added by reviewing checks and vouchers.
- Reconciles accounts payable total and general ledger with other applicable records (e.g., subsidiary vendors ledger).
- Facilitates correct and timely preparation of budget reports and purchase journals.
- Ensures proper recordkeeping of purchases for use in tax preparation and periodic audits.
- Ensures employer identification numbers or social security numbers have been collected from all vendors for the payables clerk to prepare and submit 1099s.
- Ensures proper maintenance, filing, and storage of records in case of audits.
- Performs other related duties as assigned.
Where You’ve Been:
We’re looking for someone with a Bachelor’s in Accounting or a similar field. You also at least 5 years’ supervisory experience in accounting/finance. Previous experience in hotels is preferred. Finally, you have excellent communication skills and are able to positively and professionally communicate directives and guidance to your department.
