Your Role & Impact
- To understand and respond to all guest needs and requests in a timely and professional manner, deferring to the Food and Beverage Manager/Restaurant Manager when necessary, to ensure customer satisfaction.
- Set up station in the kitchen.
- To extend a courteous, friendly and professional greeting to guests as they arrive, and to thank them as they depart.
- Delivering food orders from the kitchen to customers’ tables rapidly and accurately
- Acting as the point of contact between Front of the House and Back of the House staff
- Communicating food orders to chefs, paying attention to priorities (e.g. food allergies)
- Assist the wait staff in the service of food in accordance with the established standards.
- Assist in table set up and cleaning. Assist in maintaining the cleanliness of the restaurant in all areas.
- Assist the wait staff with table setting by fetching and placing appropriate tableware, eating utensils and napkins
- Serve welcome drinks and hors d’oeuvres, upon guests’ arrival
- Ensure food is served in accordance with safety standards (e.g. proper temperature)
- Check in with customers and take additional orders or refill water, as needed
- Remove dirty dishes and utensils
- Answer guests’ questions about ingredients and menu items
- Inform restaurant staff about customers’ feedback or requests (e.g. when they ask for the check)
- Maintain the orderly upkeep of coolers and storage areas.
- To make the Food and Beverage Manager aware of all guest comments and complaints.
- To maintain the proper care and cleanliness of tableware and serving equipment, handling both to minimize breakage.
- To follow all company policies and procedures.
- To immediately report all suspicious occurrences and hazardous conditions.
- To maintain the cleanliness and safety of work areas at all times.
- Follow all company safety standards, including proper equipment handling to avoid injury to yourself and others.
- To attend all mandatory meetings as directed.
- To perform other tasks, including cross-training, as directed.
