We are seeking a self-motivated, results-driven 1099 Group Sales Manager to drive group business to the hotel through proactive sales efforts. This is a commission-only role, ideal for an individual with a strong background in hotel sales and a proven track record of exceeding revenue targets. The Group Sales Manager will identify, solicit, and close group business opportunities while fostering strong relationships with clients and industry partners.
This is a commission-only, independent contractor role. The compensation structure is 20% of actualized group revenue. This individual will reside in the Capistrano Beach, CA area. This position is hybrid and will require occasional travel. This is an exempt position that reports to the Regional Director of Sales & Marketing.

What You’ll Do
- Identify and pursue group sales opportunities across corporate, social (weddings), association, and sports markets.
- Develop and execute targeted sales strategies to maximize group revenue and meet sales goals.
- Respond promptly to inquiries and RFPs (Request for Proposals) to secure new business.
- Maintain detailed records of all sales activities, leads, and client interactions in the hotel’s CRM system.
- Achieve or exceed monthly, quarterly, and annual group revenue targets.
- Negotiate contracts and ensure all group agreements align with the hotel’s revenue management strategies.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with new and existing clients to ensure repeat business.
- Conduct site visits and property tours to showcase the hotel’s facilities and services.
- Work closely with the operations, catering, and revenue management teams to ensure successful execution of group events.
- Provide market feedback and insights to inform future sales strategies.
Who You Are
- Proven experience in group sales, preferably in the hospitality industry.
- Strong knowledge of the local and regional market.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and relationship-building skills.
- Ability to work independently and meet or exceed sales goals.
- Proficient in CRM systems and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Flexible schedule to accommodate client needs, including evenings and weekends as necessary.
