We’re looking for a hospitality-driven and professional Cocktail Server/Bartender to join our team in efforts to create a fun, unique, and successful rooftop bar environment. The ideal candidate is dedicated, personable, professional, and communicates well. This person will play a critical role in our new rooftop bar, Tall Tales, and will report directly to the Beverage Manager. This is a non-exempt position.
The Property
Waymore’s Guest House is a boutique hotel located in East Nashville, Tennessee with 93 guest rooms, suites and bunkrooms. We call it our guest house, because it was designed with comfort in mind above all else — in addition to the essentials, our spacious rooms are pet-friendly with sustainable bath amenities, locally-sourced art, thoughtfully-curated mini-bars and floor-to-ceiling windows. What You Will Be Doing
- Great and cater to guest as seated
- Communicate with bartenders, host and management in a professional manner
- Present yourself professionally & well put together
- Communicate effectively with guests and answer questions regarding menu items, specials and beverages.
- Maintain knowledge of current menu choices, specialties and menu deviations, and food shortages in the kitchen as well as allergies/dietary restrictions
- Check ID’s & serve guest in accordance to Tennessee Law
- Monitor and maintain the guests dining experience by delivering items, fulfilling customer needs, offering desserts and drinks, run food and drinks from bar & service area in a timely manner
- Take orders and make drinks when working as the bartender
- Accomplish side work as tasked in the standard that are set
- Present checks & manage payments in accordance with company policy
- Maintain a clean and organized workspace
- Assist with any tasks needed to create an excellent work environment and productive bar space
What We’re Looking For
- One year experience as a server or bartender in a full-service restaurant or banquets operation or the equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Ability to obtain a food handler card and liquor license.
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs unassisted and to stand for long periods of time
- Understanding of restaurant etiquette
- Familiarity with health and safety regulations
- Experience in managing reservations
- Demonstrable customer-service skills
- Excellent communication skills (via phone and in-person)
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to monitor the entire dining and bar area
- Availability to work in shifts as needed
- Good physical condition to walk and stand during an entire shift
- High school diploma; hospitality certification is a plus
