The Radiologic Technologist (X-ray Tech) is responsible for all departmental functions aligned with the mission, vision, and goals of PM Pediatric Care. The Radiologic Technologist role is an opportunity for an x-ray tech to apply their skills in a pediatric urgent care setting and assist with primary patient care based on individual patient needs within their scope of practice under the physician’s direct supervision.

Description

Job Responsibilities:

• Provide clinical and administrative support for providers, patients, and office operations
• Obtain medical history, patient vital signs, and intake
• Prepare patients for radiological procedures and take x-rays following established procedures for patient care and safety
• Obtain quality diagnostic radiographs as requested by physicians, nurse practitioners, and physician assistants
• Ensure that all equipment is in good working condition and in compliance with applicable laws and regulations
• Maintain and document daily quality control of radiology equipment at the start of shift
• Document repeat exposures and parent holding log with pocket dosimeter read
• Assist in radiology quality assurance program for radiography equipment
• Helps patients in distress by promptly notifying medical staff of emergencies
• Perform collection of throat and nasal specimens and process samples for testing
• Assist in processing of laboratory testing of patient samples and routine QA testing
• Apply splints, ace wraps and DME devices on patients
• Provide patient with crutches and proper use education
• Keep exam and x-ray room stocked with adequate supplies
• Maintains safe, secure, and healthy work environment by following and enforcing standards and procedures

Qualifications

• Graduated from Radiologic Technologist program
• Knowledge of medical practice and terminology, clinic’s processes, and procedures
• Ability to use sound reasoning and judgment and act calmly in emergencies
• Ability to effectively communicate both verbally and nonverbally
• Knowledge of digital imaging
• Knowledge of electronic health records (eCW preferred)
