Position Summary
Perform engineering duties in planning, designing, and overseeing the construction and maintenance of building structures and facilities. Review and discuss the construction work plan and the safety construction process with site supervisors to ensure that construction progress and activities are executed based on the project plan and safety requirements. Responsible for tracking, highlighting, and documenting possible project risks. Provide construction project progress and construction performance report. Review civil, electrical, and mechanical construction estimates during the bid process and negotiate contracts. Collaborate with the client in reviewing construction drawings, preparing the scope of work, and the contractor proposal. Apply project control concepts to prepare a project cost forecast, provide variance explanation, monitor project change orders cost, and review the contractor’s certification for payment. Analyze construction schedule, cost information, and provide the client with recommended corrective action to ensure projects meet required in service dates.
Location: Various unanticipated worksites throughout the U.S.

Reports To: Managing Director
\n- Education: Bachelor's – Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field of study; will accept equivalent foreign degree.
- Experience: Five (5) years in the position above, as an Assistant Project Manager, or in a related civil engineering role.
- Experience must include each of the following:
- 1. Applying project management concepts to define a project scope of work, prepare an execution plan, and establish a monitoring and project closeout plan.
- 2. Managing construction progress using Primavera P6.
- 3. Project control concepts including cost and schedule.
- 4. Managing project budget and change management.
- 5. Developing and reviewing construction cost estimates.
- 6. Developing project cost reports using SAP and MS Excel.
- 7. Using or reviewing a construction schedule in Primavera P6 or MS Project.
Additional Requirements
Physical: Standing or sitting for long periods; must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times and spend extended hours in front of a computer screen.
Cognitive: Problem-solving, written, and verbal communication skills; computer and software skills; and ability to read and interpret text online or in printed form.
