We are seeking a highly motivated and skilled Laboratory Maintenance Technician to join our team! Our client is an innovative, energy storage technology company with more than 10 years developing breakthrough products for the Li-ion battery markets. Utilizing novel materials and cell designs, the Company has recently developed a revolutionary low cost, high-capacity silicon anode that enables high- capacity silicon batteries to enter mainstream markets. Delivering a very disruptive performance jump in energy density, at lower cost, with increased safety for E-mobility, consumer electronics, and aviation markets, the Company is well positioned to rapidly commercialize this technology with seamless integration into the existing Li-ion manufacturing eco-system.
Key Responsibilities:The Laboratory Maintenance Technician ensures a smooth operating lab environment with involvement in a variety of equipment and procedural responsibilities. The Lab Maintenance Technician will be responsible for commissioning new equipment, maintaining existing, carrying out testing, measuring, recording, and ensuring operation as part of a technical team. This position will also be responsible for providing all the required technical support to enable the lab to function effectively while adhering to correct procedures and health and safety guidelines.
- Oversee commissioning and maintenance of critical test equipment including vacuum ovens, inert gas cylinders, battery testers, glove boxes, vacuum pumps and other processing equipment.
- Manage lab consumables, inventories, and related purchasing, working with Controller to issue purchase orders, place orders, and receipt of purchases.
- Support HAZMAT shipping, storage, and disposal of chemicals and battery materials.
- Maintain equipment calibration, preventative maintenance schedules.
- Assistance with reporting facility issues to EBP Building Manager & Office Manager.
- Carry out routine inspections of equipment accurately and follow strict methodologies to verify functionality.
- Construct, commission, maintain, and/or operate laboratory equipment.
- Keep up to date with technical developments, offering time-saving and reliable improvements to existing Company operations.
- Follow and ensure strict safety procedures and safety checks.
- Maintenance person organizing labs; garbage; recycling assignments.
- Receiving packages - Must be able to lift boxes, binders, and other materials up to 25 lbs.
- AAS degree minimum, BS in engineering field preferred.
- Experience in overseeing a lab or other equivalent operation (1-2 years min.).
- Experience with using research lab equipment such as balances, pipettes, multi-meters etc.
- Computer skills Microsoft office.
- Comfortable with assembling equipment, use of basic hands-on tools.
- Battery assembly experience a plus, knowledge of processes/equipment including: dry boxes, dry rooms, glove boxes, inert gas cylinders, vacuum ovens and pumps.
- Team player and excellent communication skills both verbal and written.
- Must be able to lift boxes, binders, and other materials up to 25 lbs.
- Full Time - 40 hours per week
- Monday - Friday
