PMCO is hiring an Assistant Plant Manager with experience in food and beverage manufacturing in Weimar, TX!
Location: Weimar, TX
Compensation: $120,000–$140,000 annually 15% bonus
Benefits: Full benefits package relocation support
Position Overview:
Leads daily plant operations, safety, logistics, maintenance, and production scheduling. Oversees four department heads and 190 unionized team members. Reports to the Plant Manager and drives continuous improvement.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage day-to-day plant operations to meet company goals
- Oversee production scheduling, maintenance, warehousing, and logistics
- Lead Lean/CI, TPM, and KPI initiatives to improve performance
- Ensure compliance with food safety and regulatory standards (SQF, GMP, FDA, USDA, OSHA, HACCP)
- Support employee recruitment, training, and performance development
- Provide hands-on leadership and problem-solving across departments
- Assist with budgeting and capital project execution
- Work Monday–Friday, day shift, with some weekend involvement as needed
Qualifications:
- Strong, hands-on leadership with excellent communication skills
- Bachelor’s degree required (Engineering, Food Science, or related preferred)
- 5 years of leadership experience in food, beverage, or pharmaceutical manufacturing
- Maintenance/TPM experience in addition to operations is a plus
- Union environment experience strongly preferred
- Strong technical knowledge of production, compliance, and safety
- Skilled in coaching, mentoring, and developing high-performing teams
