Summary
The Designer/Drafter performs design tasks, primarily for major projects or multiple minor projects concurrently, under the general direction of their immediate supervisor.
Salary: $60-$70k
Essential Job Functions
- Translate project information (e.g., specifications, sales order details, data sheets) into drawings and documentation for manufacturing purposes.
- Identify deviations in project scope, estimate changes' magnitude, and communicate them to relevant parties.
- Maintain design continuity throughout the project lifecycle.
- Ensure effective communication within the engineering team and with other design and engineering disciplines.
- Execute quality control procedures to ensure accuracy and compliance.
Competencies
- Proficiency in AutoCAD and Inventor software.
- Strong computer skills, including proficiency in the Microsoft Office suite.
- Ability to work on multiple tasks with minimal supervision in a fast-paced environment.
- Knowledge of engineering principles and techniques.
- Familiarity with various fabrication methods and installation procedures.
- Broad understanding of materials, including their characteristics, tolerances, and limitations.
- General comprehension of mechanical systems' operation.
Education and Experience
- Preferably holds a two-year college degree in design, drafting, or a related field.
- Alternatively, a minimum of 2 years of relevant experience in the absence of a degree.
