Overview: We’re seeking a results-driven Plant Maintenance & Engineering Manager to lead both the maintenance and reliability teams within a power generation facility. This position requires a balance of technical expertise, leadership, and strong communication to ensure operational excellence, safety, and compliance in all areas of plant performance.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and direct Maintenance and Engineering departments, ensuring optimal performance and adherence to safety and quality standards.
- Oversee the commissioning and testing of all new equipment, ensuring timely and safe integration into operations.
- Provide technical leadership throughout all project phases—from installation to start-up—while adhering to deadlines.
- Act as a technical advisor to procurement and project implementation teams, using expertise in diagnostics and electronic service tools to resolve issues during commissioning.
- Identify and address installation concerns to reduce risk and ensure operational readiness of equipment.
- Ensure safe facility operations and proactively maintain a secure working environment that minimizes accidents and hazards.
- Manage environmental compliance, reporting, and testing in alignment with local and federal regulations, ensuring all permit conditions are consistently met.
- Apply experience in Combined Cycle or Cogeneration power plant operations to support long-term reliability and efficiency goals.
- Maintain clear communication with internal teams, management, vendors, and regulatory agencies. Provide weekly progress reports to the Project Manager detailing key developments and operational updates.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in a technical discipline or equivalent combination of education and hands-on experience.
- Minimum of 5 years in a supervisory role, preferably in an industrial plant environment.
- Ability to obtain an Oklahoma Boiler Operator License as required.
Knowledge & Skills:
- 8 years of leadership experience overseeing both Maintenance and Engineering functions in a plant setting.
- Proven ability to manage capital budgets and control expenditures at the facility level.
- Skilled in recruiting, onboarding, and developing plant-level technical staff in maintenance and engineering roles.
- History of driving performance and exceeding productivity and budgetary targets.
- Willingness to travel up to 25% as needed to support operations or projects.
