Overview: We are seeking a seasoned Plant Superintendent to oversee daily operations within a high-speed manufacturing facility. This key leadership role ensures the smooth execution of production, quality, safety, and efficiency initiatives, while acting as the primary backup to the Plant Manager. The ideal candidate brings deep manufacturing experience and strong team leadership capabilities.
Key Responsibilities:
- Partner with the Plant Manager to lead all aspects of day-to-day plant operations; assume full leadership responsibilities in their absence.
- Help establish and uphold production and quality benchmarks across the facility.
- Plan and direct production priorities to support operational goals and cost targets.
- Coordinate with departments including procurement, maintenance, scheduling, safety, and quality to maximize resources and streamline output.
- Analyze production trends and troubleshoot any deviations from quality or performance standards.
- Work cross-functionally to improve workflows and resolve operational challenges.
- Collaborate with engineering teams to optimize equipment and implement process improvements.
- Make real-time adjustments to production schedules and communicate updates to all relevant personnel and shifts.
- Provide clear, consistent leadership to direct reports and oversee performance management and team development.
- Take on additional responsibilities and special projects as assigned.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Business, or a related technical field.
Knowledge & Skills:
- 10 years of experience in high-speed manufacturing, ideally in bottling or packaging environments.
- At least 5 years in a plant leadership role, such as superintendent, supervisor, or manager.
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to lead, delegate, and collaborate across all levels of the organization.
Preferred Requirements:
- Flexibility to work alternate shifts, including nights and weekends, to support operations or fill in as needed.
- Ability to travel overnight up to 10% of the time.
