Shop Fabricator

PMI is seeking a Full-Time Fabricator to perform all tasks relating to the production of our Custom Fabrication and Manlift projects. This involves the interpretation of blueprints and the assignment of construction and welding parameters in order to complete projects on time and within budget.

• Minimum Education Required: High School/GED
• Completion of American Welding Society certifications preferred
• Ability to pass PMI welding certification tests required

Job Description:

• Know and apply all relevant OSHA, PMI and customer safety policies, procedures and practices
• Perform complex welding assignments independently by operating welding equipment, oxyacetylene torches and plasma cutters for all types of projects
• Apply practical shop mathematics to do layouts and plan work
• Layout large, critical and complex fitting and welding assignments
• Perform checks for quality during fabrication by visual inspections, using true square or center gauging, measuring and comparing to print specifications, documented tolerances or verbal instructions.
• Set up and operate a variety of powered, hand-held drills, grinders and saws, as well as appropriate non-powered hand tools required to perform tasks
• Drive and operate PMI trucks, forklifts and boom lifts after receiving training and when authorized.
• Climb and work at heights up to 20 feet
