Job Summary
The Extrusion Machine Operator is responsible for running various machines and identifying opportunities for improvement.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Operates and oversees multiple extrusion lines
- Performs quality checks on finished product
- Keep the Extrusion Department and equipment clean per SQF procedures and schedules
- Completes all necessary paperwork in a clear and timely fashion
- Fills silos from railcars/trucks using silo pump while following documented procedures
- Advises the Extrusion Supervisor of any quality issues
- Ensures company policies and procedures are implemented, understood, and followed.
- Ensures work activities are performed according to SQF procedures and requirements
- Reports downtime when assigned to a line
- Reports any equipment malfunctions or other abnormal condition to Production Management
- Performs Preventive Maintenance (PM) on assigned production equipment
- Maintains a clean, neat, and safe work area
- Works well in a team environment
- Adheres to all Company safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals
- Works scheduled shifts with predictable and reliable attendance, adhering to department schedule
- Performs various special projects and other duties as assigned
Qualifications
Required
- High school diploma or GED
Preferred
- 1 year blown film extrusion experience
- Experience with Windmoeller & Hoelscher equipment
- Previous experience in a manufacturing or industrial work environment

Work is performed within a process manufacturing environment. The employee must be able to lift up to 50 pounds. While performing the duties of this job, the employee will have long periods of standing, walking, bending, stooping, squatting, or kneeling. The noise level is moderate to high and PPE is required.
