Material Handler Job Description
Job Title: Material Handler
Reports to: Warehouse Manager
Job Summary:
PMI Pipe, Steel & Supplies Material Handler are to participate in our warehouse operations and activities. Material Handler responsibilities include storing materials, picking, packing, and loading orders. The goal is to increase efficiency, profitability, and customer satisfaction.
Responsibilities
- Prepare and complete orders for delivery or pickup according to schedule (load, pack, wrap, label ship)
- Receive and process warehouse stock products (pick, unload, label, store)
- Perform inventory controls and keep quality standards high for audits
- Keep a clean and safe working environment and optimize space utilization
- Complete logs for inventory, vehicles or deliveries as required
- Report any discrepancies
- Able to multi-task
- Communicate and cooperate with supervisors and coworkers
- Operate and maintain preventively warehouse vehicles and equipment
- Follow quality service standards and comply with procedures, rules, and regulations
Requirements
- Must be 25 or older due to insurability requirements for equipment use.
- Proven working experience as a material worker.
- Familiarity with modern warehousing practices and methods
- Good organizational and time management skills
- Experience working with Profit 2 or other computer skills.
- Ability to lift heavy objects, up to 50 lbs.
- Ability to squat, twist, reach and stand/walk for an entire workday.
- Ability to work in Texas weather ie, heat, cold, dust, rain
- Able to work overtime and some Saturday's.
- Ability to use a measuring tape
- Current forklift license
- High School diploma
- Ability to read, write and speak English or Spanish
- Legally eligible to work in the United States.
- Other duties as assigned
