Position Location: Hybrid (3 days/week in office) - Pittsburgh, PA; Strongsville, OH; Birmingham, AL; Dallas, TX; or Phoenix, AZ
Shift: Saturday and Sunday, 7:00 PM - 7:00 AM; Tuesday, 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM; Thursday, 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM
Summary:
The main function is to monitor, automate, and improve the reliability, performance, and availability of software systems in an organization.
Job Responsibilities:
• Gather and analyze metrics from operating systems as well as applications to assist in performance tuning and fault finding.
• Partner with development teams to improve services through rigorous testing and release procedures.
• Participate in system design consulting, platform management, and capacity planning.
• Create sustainable systems and services through automation and uplifts.
• Balance feature development speed and reliability with well-defined service-level objectives.
Qualifications:
• Proactive Approach:
Take a proactive approach to identifying problems, performance bottlenecks, and areas for improvement.
• Leadership Experience:
Demonstrated leadership in technical roles, preferably within Site Reliability Engineering (SRE) or DevOps.
• Continuous Improvement:
Foster a culture of continuous improvement and technical excellence, proactively identifying patterns of recurring issues to enhance stability and improved processes (automation opportunities, etc).
Nice to Have:
• 24x7 Environment:
Operational experience in a 24x7 production environment.
Education/Experience
• Bachelor’s degree in computer science or related discipline.
• 8 years of experience.
