What are the responsibilities and job description for the ESY Teacher Aides position at PNW BOCES?
DUTIES:
Putnam/Northern Westchester BOCES anticipates operating a 6-week ESY Program for students with disabilities from July 1, 2025 through August 11, 2025. Teacher Aide candidates are needed to work with students with disabilities in a variety of programs. The position requires an ability and willingness to assist students in areas such as: managing behavior, lifting and assisting to enable all self-care activities, mobility, communication, therapies, and feedings.
To begin July 1, 2025 (Only those who can work the full 6-week program and those who are available to attend the ESY Orientation on June 12, 2025 at 3:00 PM need apply).
QUALIFICATIONS:
Ability to form positive relationships with students. Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to observe and report accurately. High School diploma required.
CHARACTERISTICS DESIRED:
Experience working with students with autism, emotional/behavioral disorders and/or multiple disabilities preferred. Must be driven, organized and have the ability to positively manage students. Successful candidates must have a positive, can-do attitude and be committed to the BOCES Mission of Service and Innovation through Partnership.
