Shipping and Receiving Clerk

Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Shipping and Receiving Clerk to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for providing exceptional customer support and client services, ensuring a positive experience for drivers and team members. This role requires strong communication skills, attention to detail, and the analyze the daily workloadeffectively. Multilingual candidates are highly encouraged to apply.

Duties

• Receiving and verifying the quality and quantity of incoming shipments, and comparing them to records like BOLS, invoices, or manifests

• Maintaining accurate records of shipments, including shipping records, damage claims, and inventory logs

• Preparing items for shipment, including picking customer orders and ensuring they are accurate

• Organizing inventory so it's easy to retrieve when new orders come in

• Tracking and updating the status of incoming and outgoing shipments within our tracking system

• Communicating with logistics technicians, customer service representatives, and others involved in the shipment and receipt of products

• Keeping the work area clean and neat

• Engages with team members and drivers with a positive attitude.

• Provides additional backup support for shipping and receiving departments

• Lifting and moving items, sometimes up to 35 pounds

• Other duties as assigned

Required qualifications:

• Minimum 2 years of warehouse experience

• Excellent customer service skills

• Strong attention to detail

• Ability to operate various types of material handling equipment, including hand trucks, pallet jacks, standard forklifts, and order-picker forklifts when needed

• Strong proficiency in Word, Excel, Outlook

• Highly organized and detail oriented

• Must be able to work independently

• Prior forklift certification preferred

• Scanning and sorting incoming and outgoing stock

• Knowledge on inventory management such as: cycle count, material rotation, FIFO principle

Pay Scale: $19.00- $25.00 per hour depending on experience
