Key Responsibilities:
Patient-Centered Care:
- Welcome and assist patients, ensuring their comfort and providing procedural information.
- Update and review patient medical history, allergies, and medications for safety.
- Monitor vital signs and communicate them to the surgeon pre-surgery.
- Explain treatment options, review plans, and obtain patient consent.
- Provide post-operative instructions, address questions, and alleviate concerns.
Surgical Support:
- Assist the surgeon during procedures, prioritizing patient comfort and safety.
- Ensure proper patient monitoring before sedation, recording vital signs throughout.
- Maintain accurate surgical notes and anesthesia forms.
- Sterilize and prepare surgical instruments and equipment.
- Thoroughly clean and disinfect the surgical suite, ready for the next patient.
- Strictly adhere to infection control protocols for patient safety.
Administrative Duties:
- Manage inventory of supplies and equipment, ensuring well-stocked rooms.
- Follow established room and equipment stocking protocols.
- Exhibit strong organizational skills and multitasking abilities in a fast-paced environment.
Qualifications:
- Certified Registered Dental Assistant (RDA) certification.
- Preferred BLS (Basic Life Support) and DAANCE (Dental Anesthesia Assistant National Certification Exam) certification.
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills.
- A compassionate and empathetic approach towards patients.
- Ability to effectively multitask and thrive in a fast-paced work environment.
