JOB SUMMARY: Pocatello/Chubbuck School District Number 25 is seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Physical Security Specialist to join our team. The primary focus of this role is to ensure the effective management and maintenance of physical security
infrastructure, including uninterruptible power supplies (UPSs), structured cabling, and CCTV systems. The specialist will also support the network engineer in maintaining a secure and efficient network environment. This position requires a
proactive approach to physical security, technical expertise, and strong organizational skills.
Key Responsibilities

USPS Management

• Perform routine inspections, testing, and maintenance of UPS systems to ensure continuous operation.
• Monitor and troubleshoot UPS performance issues and coordinate repairs as needed.
• Manage inventory of UPS devices, batteries, and associated hardware.
• Document and update records of UPS maintenance and operational status.

Ethernet Cabling

• Install, terminate, and test Ethernet cables to support network infrastructure.
• Maintain accurate records of cable layouts, labeling, and pathways.
• Ensure compliance with structured cabling standards and best practices.
• Identify and resolve cabling-related issues, such as damaged cables or connectivity problems.

CCTV System Management

• Oversee the installation, configuration, and maintenance of CCTV cameras and systems.
• Monitor camera performance, troubleshoot issues, and coordinate repairs or replacements.
• Manage video storage and retrieval systems, ensuring data integrity and accessibility.
• Perform periodic audits of CCTV coverage to ensure adequate security.

Network Engineering Support

• Assist the network engineer in deploying, troubleshooting, and maintaining network devices and systems.
• Provide hands-on support during network upgrades, installations, and maintenance activities.
• Collaborate with the IT team to ensure physical security systems integrate seamlessly with network infrastructure.

General Responsibilities

• Maintain an up-to-date inventory of physical security equipment.
• Ensure compliance with organizational policies and industry standards for physical security and IT infrastructure.
• Conduct periodic risk assessments and recommend improvements to enhance security and system reliability.
• Respond promptly to emergency situations and support recovery efforts related to physical security systems.

JOB QUALIFICATIONS: Proven experience in managing UPS systems, Ethernet cabling, and CCTV systems. Knowledge of structured cabling standards and network infrastructure. Familiarity with CCTV systems and video management software. Basic
understanding of network engineering principles and practices. Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills. Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities effectively. Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
Preferred Qualifications: Relevant certifications, such as CompTIA Network , BICSI Installer, or similar. Experience working in IT or security operations in an interprise environment.

WORK ENVIRONMENT: This position may require lifting heavy equipment, working at heights, and operating in various environments using ladders and climbing stairs. Candidates should be comfortable performing physical tasks and adhering to safety guidelines.
