DiaMedical USA is a fast-growing medical equipment distributor looking to fill a White Glove Installation Technician (Travel) position in our Farmington Hills, MI office. The White Glove Installation Technician is part of a growing team that will be responsible for installing simulation training equipment onsite at customer locations across the US. This position will be based out of our Farmington Hills, MI warehouse with frequent overnight travel to deliver, install, and set up equipment and fixtures. When not traveling, this position will assist other assembly teams onsite in our warehouse.
This position requires the need to be very detail-oriented, able to follow assembly instructions, possess professional customer service skills, and be able to travel for up to a week at a time.
Key Responsibilities and other duties as assigned:
- Travel to customer locations to complete set up of medical simulation equipment, which can include assembling and installing hospital beds, furniture, and curtains. Travel will be done by either company-provided vehicle or air.
- Inspect deliveries for accuracy, damages, and unload materials.
- Act as an authorized point of contact to sign for deliveries at DiaMedical’s warehouse location as well as at customer locations.
- Assemble items according to instructions using provided tools including but not limited to screw guns, circular saws, jigsaws, drills, and hammers.
- Monitor and report project successes and failures during project.
- Complete inventory and cycle counts for inventory and supplies.
- Attend company meetings at warehouse and home office and present information to team members as needed.
- Complete production reports and other documents as required.
- Adhere to all company safety and safe-working policies and report any known safety risks or violations to management.
- Assist with SimRig production and assembly, and other warehouse duties during non-travel periods.
- Communicate and interact with customers and other site-appointed liaisons.
- Other duties as assigned by team lead, supervisor, or management.
Education:
- High school diploma or general education degree (G.E.D.).
Travel:
- 65% domestic travel for up to a week at a time.
Skills and Experience:
- Ability to read, understand, and execute blueprints and dimensioned diagrams.
- Valid driver’s license and ability to be able to travel domestically.
- Ability to lift 75 lbs.
- Proven ability to operate hand and power tools while using ladder.
- Operate push carts and pallet jacks.
- Ability to make independent decisions while at work locations regarding sourcing missing materials.
- Must be dependable and able to work on specified work schedules that will include overnights for installs and service at customer site.
- Previous experience working with a moving or installation company is helpful.
- Experience with wood working and assembly is a plus.
