Non-teaching assistants assist building administration and teaching staff in the supervision of students outside of the classroom environment.
Qualifications:
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- Excellent Interpersonal Skills
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Monitors and assists with supervising students in the cafeteria, hallways, locker rooms, playground, parking lots, restrooms, lunch detention, etc to maintain safety and discipline.
- Refer and escort all visitors in the main office.
- Assists students during bus dismissal and parent pick up/drop off.
- Report unauthorized personnel to the building administration.
- Observes safety regulations and assists with bus drills.
- Enforces school district and building rules and regulations.
- Cooperates with the public and professional staff.
- Reports problems, special information, student misconduct or violations of school rules and regulations.
- Participates in training sessions as assigned.
- Operates district lamination, copy machine and poster maker equipment.
- Assists with building general supplies.
- Assists with general food needs and Delivers lunch to students as needed.
- Must have knowledge of the needs of students. Understands and is aware of physical and emotional needs of students.
- Assists and supports student behavior management.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Salary commensurate with the collective bargaining agreement. The selected candidate shall be chosen based on credentials, the ability to demonstrate job functions and the successful completion of interview(s) along with meeting all local requirements.
