Responsibilities
- Develop and implement training programs tailored to the needs of individual dogs and their owners.
- Teach basic obedience commands such as sit, stay, come, and heel.
- Utilize positive reinforcement techniques to encourage desired behaviors.
- Assess each dog's temperament and behavior to create effective training plans.
- Provide ongoing support and education to pet owners regarding dog care and training methods.
- Maintain a safe and clean training environment for both dogs and clients.
- Handle dogs of various sizes and temperaments with confidence and care.
- Collaborate with veterinary professionals when necessary to address behavioral issues or health concerns.
Qualifications
- Proven experience in dog training or related fields such as veterinary technician or animal care.
- Strong knowledge of animal behavior, including dog handling techniques.
- Excellent customer service skills to effectively communicate with pet owners.
- Ability to demonstrate patience, empathy, and understanding towards both dogs and their owners.
- Familiarity with animal restraint methods is preferred.
- Experience in pet sitting or equine handling is a plus.
- Certification from a recognized dog training program is advantageous but not required.
