Paraprofessional Job Description - (multiple positions, varying hours)
The Mission
PODER Elementary is an innovative college-prep school focused on proficiency. Student scores in the core subjects exceed national and state averages.
Position Summary
PODER Elementary is a small-school environment where teachers track individual students and tailor instruction accordingly. There is a heavy focus on classroom management where behavior disruptions are minimized. Seeking creative minds who enjoy supporting students’ academic and social/emotional needs.
Qualifications
- High School Diploma or higher
- Able to pass a background check
- Passion and/or experience working with ages 5-12
- Bilingual in English/Spanish is a plus (not required)
- Substitute License (not required, but will be beneficial).
Responsibilities
- Provide small group and individual instruction, conduct data review, extra sanitation, academic support, classroom coverage, & social/emotional support as needed.
- Collaborate with team members to fulfill students’ academic & social/emotional needs
- Be a self-motivated team player, ready to support needs of students, staff, and overall school
