Position: Associate Casting Director
Location: Los Angeles, CA (Hybrid, 3 days in-office)
Podium Entertainment, a leader in audio storytelling, seeks a driven Associate Casting Director to support the ongoing growth and speed of Podium’s casting team, with a focus on our all-in contractor and re-casting processes. This role focuses on identifying exceptional new voice talent, evaluating scripts, streamlining workflows, and contributing to Podium’s reputation for high-quality audiobook productions. Collaborating closely with Casting Directors and the Casting Assistant, the Associate will be a major contributor to the seamless execution of all-in projects.
Responsibilities:
- Proactively scout, evaluate, cast, and recruit diverse voice talent, with a focus on our all-in production process.
- Manage the re-cast process for all casting directors: collaboratively liaise with authors, narrators, and internal teams to articulate creative vision and casting decisions.
- Provide guidance to narrators on an as-needed basis on studio set-up, recording specifications, and manuscript preparation.
- Track and report data as related to the all-in casting process.
- Contribute to improving information in the narrator database, building processes, QCing for accuracy, and maximizing accessibility for the casting directors.
- Oversee tracking, process improvements, and quality assurance for narrator auditions, shortlists, narration-type assessments, and raw studio samples to uphold Podium’s production standards.
- Represent Podium at industry events, building relationships with all-in contractors, and new narrators aligned with team objectives.
- Step in to cover casting projects as needed for casting directors (e.g., holiday coverage).
- Consistent and active participation in collaborative environments, both virtual and in-person.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in audio engineering, theater, audio production, book publishing, or equivalent experience.
- Minimum of 3 years experience in audiobook casting, engineering, or directing preferred.
- Strong knowledge of audiobook engineering, recording specifications, and studio setups.
- Proficient in tools like Microsoft Office, Google Suite, Slack, and Airtable.
- Familiar with narration performance metrics and genre-specific requirements.
- Proactive and solution-oriented in a fast-paced environment.

Compensation:
The total compensation range for this position is $60-75k per year.
