Service Technician - Job Description
Job Summary : We are looking for a skilled and safety-conscious Technician to join our team. The Technician will be responsible for providing on-site or in-shop technical support, ensuring that equipment and machinery are installed, maintained, and repaired to meet operational requirements. They diagnose technical issues, perform repairs, and ensure that all systems are functioning correctly and safely.
Key Responsibilities :
Install and configure equipment and systems according to manufacturer specifications.
Perform system tests to verify installation and ensure operational readiness.Maintenance & Inspection :Conduct routine maintenance, inspections, and calibration of equipment.
Ensure that equipment is operating efficiently and is compliant with safety regulations.Troubleshooting & Repair :Diagnose mechanical, electrical, or software issues and provide effective solutions.
Perform repairs or replacements of defective parts and components.Test repaired equipment to ensure proper functioning.Customer Support :Provide technical support and guidance to customers, answering questions related to equipment use and maintenance.
Offer troubleshooting advice over the phone or on-site.Documentation & Reporting :Maintain accurate service records, including work completed, parts used, and time spent on each job.
Report any issues or concerns to the supervisor or management.Safety & Compliance :Follow safety protocols and manufacturer guidelines when handling equipment.
Ensure all repairs and installations meet local regulatory standards.Inventory Management :Manage inventory of parts and tools necessary for repairs and maintenance.
Order new parts as needed to maintain adequate stock levels.Skills & Qualifications :
Technical Expertise in the operation and repair of the specific equipment or systems being serviced (e.g., HVAC, electronics, machinery, etc.).Strong problem-solving and analytical skills for diagnosing issues and implementing solutions.Good communication skills to interact effectively with customers and team members.Ability to work independently and manage time efficiently.Attention to detail and a commitment to delivering high-quality work.Physical stamina to lift heavy equipment and perform tasks in various environments.Valid drivers license.Educational Requirements :
High school diploma or equivalent; technical or vocational certification in a related field preferred.Additional certifications or training in specific equipment or systems may be required.Experience :
Previous experience as a Service Technician or in a technical role is preferred.On-the-job training may be provided.Work Environment :
Service Technicians may work in a variety of settings, including customer homes, businesses, or industrial locations.The role requires travel to different sites and working in outdoor or challenging conditions.Ability to lift and carry heavy objects, up to 75 lbs.
