Hours: Monday - Friday, 8:00am - 4:30pm
Reports to: Principal
Salary: $57,000-$60,000

Job Summary
This position is responsible for classroom instruction, curriculum development and program growth activities by performing the following duties.
Essential Duties
Adapts teaching methods and instructional materials to meet students' varying needs and interests.
Establishes shared expectations with students regarding behaviors, norms and habits in the classroom.
Plans and delivers instructional activities that facilitate active learning experiences.
Coordinates with Portland Community College to schedule GED tests.
Develops and designs program features which will inspire students to develop new understandings about the interconnectedness between subject areas.
Designs and adapts curriculum to meet the diverse needs of our student population.
Prepares materials and classrooms for class activities.
Develops auxiliary curriculum by working collaboratively with other teachers from both the high school and college.
Confers with parents, guardians, caring adults as well as school community stakeholders regarding student progress and aid in the planning specific interventions.
Advises a group of 15 students, helping to support individual student social and emotional growth and organizational skills.
Fosters a classroom environment conducive to learning.
Evaluates student academic & social progress.
Maintains accurate, complete, and correct student records as required by laws.
Monitors the progress of individual students using school database system (Synergy).
Participates in ongoing professional development related to our organizational expectations centered on personal growth, leadership, and accountability.
Performs other duties as assigned.
Experience/Education
A bachelor’s degree from in Education or similar subject is required this role. In addition to the education requirement, this position requires one to three years related experience. An equivalent combination of education, training, and experience may be used to satisfy these requirements.

Certificates, Licenses, and/or Registrations
This position requires a valid driver’s license, acceptable driving record, and automobile liability coverage or access to an insured vehicle. A teaching license is preferred but not required for this role.
