Prosthetic Technician I

We are seeking a full-time Prosthetic Technician I for our Bountiful, UT office. This role specializes in fabricating custom HTV silicone interfaces and prosthetic components. Working under the direction of the Lab Manager and alongside a team of Prosthetic Technicians, this individual will ensure our products meet the high standards required by prosthetists and their patients.
This position requires a hands-on, detail-oriented individual who is eager to learn a unique and specialized skill set through on-the-job training.
Job Responsibilities
Silicone Fabrication & Customization

Learn and master the process of creating custom HTV silicone prosthetic interfaces, with training provided by current silicone specialists.

Prepare and refine models made from dental plaster to precise standards for silicone applications.

Work with raw silicone materials and other chemicals to mix, shape, and color components to meet customer specifications for design, function, and aesthetics.

Operate and maintain vacuum stations, curing ovens, and other specialized equipment.

Production & Quality Assurance

Follow detailed work orders to ensure consistency and accuracy in all fabricated prostheses.

Assemble complete prostheses

Conduct quality control checks on finished products to uphold Point Designs’ high standards of durability and functionality.

Maintain organized records of completed work and materials used.

Collaboration & Workflow

Report to the Lab Manager and work collaboratively with other Prosthetic Technicians to meet production schedules.

Communicate effectively with the team to troubleshoot issues and ensure timely completion of orders.

Tools & Materials Management

Maintain and clean tools, equipment, and workspaces to ensure a safe and efficient work environment.

Track and manage inventory of raw materials, ensuring adequate supplies for production.

Skills and Qualifications

Experience in fields requiring fine motor skills and precision, such as dental lab work, model making, or physical 3D art (e.g., pottery, sculpting).

Familiarity with creating custom molds, mixing materials, and finishing intricate components.

Fine motor skills and attention to detail are essential for working with small components and intricate designs.

Sewing or other handcraft skills (a plus but not required).

Education and Experience Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent (Required)

Hands-on experience in a lab, fabrication, or dental lab setting (Preferred)

Ability to communicate effectively in English (Required)

This is NOT a remote work position. The Prosthetic Technician I is required to work on-site in Bountiful, UT. There is no direct patient contact.
