Salary :
PLNU adjunct pay : Using a 3-unit full semester appointment as a pay guide, the adjunct pay range is $4,860 - $6,480. The units will determine the actual salary.

Job Description :
The Department of Physician Assistant Education is seeking candidates for adjunct teaching positions in the pending graduate program (Master of Science in Medicine - Physician Assistant) to teach courses in one or more of the following areas :
- Anatomy
- Physiology
- Pharmacotherapeutics (3 semester sequence)
- Cardiology
- Hematology / Oncology
- Pulmonology
- Gastroenterology
- Orthopedics and Rheumatology
- other courses or course components
Responsibilities begin in August 2025. Qualified applicants should have an advanced degree in basic science, medicine (i.e. PA, MD, DO) or a closely related field. The successful candidate will be expected to demonstrate effective teaching and service in either the classroom or the clinical setting and will embrace the mission of Point Loma Nazarene University. The Department of PA Education is comprised of 5 full-time faculty members with a strong commitment to high quality teaching, service, and clinical competence.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Adjunct faculty members should have knowledge of instructional strategies and techniques appropriate to effective graduate teaching. PLNU will offer training through our Center for Teaching and Learning on effective pedagogy. :
QUALIFICATIONS
SPECIAL INSTRUCTIONS
The number of adjunct instructors hired varies from semester to semester, depending upon the needs of the department. Please realize that there may not presently be an adjunct position available.
When an opening becomes available for which a candidate would be a good match, the department chair will be in contact with that candidate for further dialogue, interviews, etc.
Approved applicants will remain in the adjunct pool for the upcoming school year only. To be reconsidered for the following school year, applicant will need to reapply. If hired, official transcripts will be required from all undergraduate and graduate universities attended before a contract is issued.
