Salary :
PLNU adjunct pay : Using a 3-unit full semester appointment as a pay guide, the adjunct pay range is $4,860 - $6,480.The units will determine the actual salary.

Job Description : RESPONSIBILITIES
Teach graduate level courses (one day a week F2F, Mondays through Thursdays from 4 : 30 to 9 : 00 PM or online) in the following areas : Teacher Preparation, Special Education, School Administration, Adult Education and Leadership, Research Methods
QUALIFICATIONS
- Evidence of Christian commitment and active church involvement. In addition, faculty agree to live in agreement with PLNU's Community Life Covenant.
- Evidence of high moral and ethical standards and a willingness to participate in and contribute to an intentional university Christian community.
- Evidence of a minimum of five years of highly successful experience in K-12 settings.
- Knowledge of Common Core design, implementation and assessment.
- Evidence of valid California credential.
- Proven expertise as a K-12 teacher / counselor / administrator working with diverse student populations.
- Evidence of strong leadership, organizational, communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to model current instructional pedagogy and practices such as RTI, restorative justice, positive behavior intervention strategies, project-based learning.
- Proven ability, flexibility and willingness to teach a range of evening classes.
- Willingness to significantly support the university's mission and the School of Education's vision and goals for teaching, learning and spiritual formation.
- Ability to use the course learning management system (Canvas) and assessment program (TaskStream).
- Evidence of a commitment to continuous professional development.
- Evidence of active participation in professional educational organizations.
- The position is contingent upon successful completion of a background check.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
The work is primarily sedentary and may require sitting for extended periods of time. Use of computer equipment : computer keyboard, mouse, and monitor. Vision to read documents, email and other correspondence, and reports on paper and computer monitor. Hearing and speaking to communicate effectively with others in person and by phone. Will also stand, stoop, push, pull, and lift up to 10 lbs throughout the day.
SPECIAL INSTRUCTIONS
The number of adjunct instructors hired varies from semester to semester, depending upon the needs of the department. Please realize that there may not presently be an adjunct position available.
When an opening becomes available for which you would be a good match, the department chair will be in contact with you for further dialogue, interviews, etc.
Approved applicants will remain in the adjunct pool for the upcoming school year only. To be reconsidered for the following school year, applicants will need to reapply. If hired, official transcripts will be required from all undergraduate and graduate universities attended before a contract is issued.
