Overview
We are seeking an experienced and certified Pool Director to oversee daily operations at Point O' Woods Golf and County Club for the 2025 Season. The ideal candidate will have at least three years of experience managing a pool in a similar-sized club, with strong leadership skills, excellent customer service, and a passion for maintaining a safe, enjoyable environment for all patrons. Required certifications include CPR, CPO, First Aid, Lifeguard, and AED/BLS.
Key Responsibilities
Operations Management:
- Manage daily operations of the pool, ensuring compliance with safety regulations and cleanliness standards.
- Oversee the maintenance and repair of the pool and all related equipment.
- Conduct and log pH and chlorine tests to ensure water quality.
- Maintain accurate records, including timesheets, daily reports, incidents, attendance, and required health department documentation.
- Manage inventory, including ordering pool towels and purchasing necessary supplies, and equipment.
- Coordinate events such as private parties and community gatherings, ensuring smooth execution.
- Attend weekly meetings with Management and Directors to report on pool operations and discuss any necessary improvements.
Staff Leadership:
- Hire, Supervise, train, and evaluate pool staff, providing guidance on customer service and operational procedures.
- Schedule and lead weekly staff meetings and in-service training, covering topics like lifeguard skills, facility maintenance, and emergency procedures.
- Conduct performance evaluations of pool staff in a timely manner.
Guest Services:
- Assist guests in a courteous manner, addressing inquiries and concerns promptly.
- Handle transactions and maintain accurate financial records related to pool activities.
- Collaborate with other departments, such as restaurant services, to ensure a cohesive guest experience.
- Promote pool activities and develop strategies to enhance guest satisfaction.
Safety & Compliance:
- Oversee crowd control and enforce pool safety regulations.
- Interpret and ensure compliance with all laws, ordinances, and health and safety regulations.
- Immediately report incidents or hazardous situations to management.
- Supervise general custodial cleaning of the aquatic facility, including vacuuming, cleaning filters, restrooms, and pool decks as needed.
Additional Duties:
- Perform lifeguard and swim instructor duties when necessary.
- Teach group and private swim lessons as required.
Required Certifications & Skills
- CPR, CPO, First Aid, Lifeguard Training, AED/BLS Certification.
- Proven leadership in a pool management role, preferably within a country club or recreational setting.
- Strong communication and customer service skills.
- Background in events management, with experience in planning and executing pool events.
- Proficient in maintaining financial and operational records.
Experience
- Minimum of 3 years’ experience as a Pool Director in a similar-sized club.
- Demonstrated success in staff management and guest relations.
- Strong organizational and problem-solving skills.
