A major global multi-strategy hedge fund is seeking a highly skilled Quant Macro Researcher to join a newly established Portfolio Manager’s team in New York. This is an exciting opportunity to work closely with a seasoned PM and contribute to the development of systematic and discretionary macro trading strategies. The role will focus on research, data analysis, and alpha generation across global macro asset classes, including rates, FX, commodities, and equities.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct in-depth quantitative research on macroeconomic and market data to generate trade ideas and enhance portfolio performance.
  • Develop, test, and implement systematic macro signals and trading strategies.
  • Analyze large datasets using statistical and machine learning techniques to uncover predictive relationships.
  • Collaborate with the Portfolio Manager on portfolio construction, risk management, and execution optimization.
  • Build and maintain robust quantitative models and tools to support decision-making.
  • Stay updated on global macroeconomic trends, central bank policies, and geopolitical events that impact financial markets.
  • Work closely with technology teams to improve research infrastructure and data pipelines.


Key Requirements:

  • Education: PhD or Master’s degree in a quantitative field such as Mathematics, Statistics, Economics, Computer Science, or Engineering.
  • Experience: 3 years of experience in a quantitative research role at a hedge fund, proprietary trading firm, or investment bank, with a focus on macro markets.
  • Technical Skills: Strong programming skills in Python, R, or C . Experience with time-series analysis, machine learning, and statistical modeling.
  • Market Knowledge: Deep understanding of macroeconomic data, monetary policy, and their impact on global markets.
  • Analytical Mindset: Ability to think critically and rigorously test hypotheses in a research-driven environment.
  • Communication: Strong ability to convey complex quantitative concepts to Portfolio Managers and traders.
