The Role of the School Psychologist
The successful candidate will work closely with our team to measure and interpret the intellectual, adaptive, academic, social, and emotional development of children. They will also develop strategies and interventions to address the special education needs of eligible students.
Key Responsibilities
- Consult with parents, teachers, administrators, and other agencies to plan educational and therapeutic programs.
- Recommend appropriate educational and psychological remediation through the use of psychological tests.
- Analyze assessment results to inform instructional programs.
- Prepare written assessment reports for each student evaluated.
- Participate in IEP teams and reviews.
- Conduct re-evaluations on Special Education students as required.
- Initiate referrals to Mental Health Services when needed.
- Collaborate in master schedule planning for the special education program.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree in a related field.
- Master's degree.
- AZ Credential authorizing the performance of psychological services.
- Administrative Services Credential (Preferred).
- ADE School Psychologist Certification.
- Graduate degree from NASP-Approved School.
- Valid IVP Fingerprint Card.
Work Environment and Physical Demands
- Ongoing exposure to moderate to high noise intensity levels.
- Frequent sitting, standing, walking, hearing, talking, stooping, bending, crouching, kneeling, running, carrying, and lifting 50 or more lbs.
- Ability to see and hear within normal range with or without correction.
