Generate investment ideas from a defined universe of 40 – 50 US-listed equities. Maintain detailed financial models on all companies under coverage, with historical and forecasted financials, as well as detailed valuation scenarios. Monitor news headlines and industry trade blogs to help maintain an up-to-date viewpoint on industries under coverage. Meet with company management teams and industry professionals to help inform investment recommendations and build sector expertise. Conduct interviews with industry experts to help inform investment research. Maintain industry-wide financial models, tracking key sector data points for a range of companies. Produce detailed Earnings Preview analyses for every company under coverage each quarter, outlining expectations for each company’s upcoming quarterly results. Travel to investor conferences to meet with company management teams. Requires domestic travel 4-6 weeks of the year to various investor conferences or company-hosted management meetings. Requires a Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Business Administration, Economics, Mathematics, Behavioral Psychology, or a related. Position requires at least 2 years of related experience, which must include some experience or education in each of the following skills : forecasting the 3 financial statements (income statement, balance sheet, cash flow); advanced Excel modelling capabilities; understanding of various global tax rate regimes and the impact on cash vs. book taxes; ability to value options and other derivatives thru Black-Scholes methodology; calculate the earnings accretion / dilution of potential announced corporate mergers, with full pro-forma financials and deal considerations; and proficiency using various financial-services software, such as Bloomberg and Visible Alpha.
