Within Finance, Portfolio Management Reporting & Analysis (PMRA) is a dynamic group responsible for all aspects of compensation reporting, forecasting, and analysis, including management of the monthly accounting accruals, carry calculations and vesting schedules, expense and balance sheet reconciliations, reporting of key metrics, cash forecasting, and year-end bonus calculation for our Investment Professionals. Our team is constantly challenged to meet the growing size of the Firm and the complexity of the compensation paradigms and new business initiatives.

What you’ll do

As a senior associate focused on alternative investments, you will be responsible for maintaining all aspects of compensation deliverables, with a particular focus on venture capital and private equity accounting, modeling, and reporting to support Point72’s Alternative Investment businesses. This role offers significant growth opportunities, including managing and overseeing the compensation and reporting of several investing businesses within Point72. Specifically, you will:

• Lead meetings and run point on business interactions to ensure effective communication and decision making
• Develop and maintain analytical models and reporting processes to support our Alternative Investments business
• Create and maintain carry and vesting schedules based on contractual terms
• Calculate and reconcile contractual performance bonuses and carry performance for investment professionals for monthly accrual and year-end payment purposes
• Collaborate with colleagues across Finance to create and review quarterly expense reports and maintain monthly expense reconciliations
• Present analytical findings in a clear, concise, and compelling manner to drive action plans
• Identify and implement process improvements to minimize opportunities for error and improve the timeliness of our deliverables
• Ensure timely, accurate, and efficient data collection and maintenance
• Collaborate across the broader Point72 organization to aid in processes including valuation, audit, tax requests, and larger strategic projects
• Assist in producing high-quality reports that inform decisions and actions internally and provide insightful updates externally

What’s required

We are seeking a strategic and analytical thinker with excellent attention to detail to join our team. Specifically, you should have:

• 4 years of relevant experience in a hedge fund or similar financial institution
• Strong quantitative, analytical, and critical thinking skills, with experience in accounting fundamentals, financial reporting, and scenario modeling
• Proficiency in Excel and PowerPoint
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to present financial results to Senior Management
• A positive attitude with flexibility to manage change and build working relationships within Finance and the firm
• Prior experience in reporting and the ability to take ownership of tasks
• Intellectual curiosity and a desire to learn
• Self-starter with excellent organizational and project management skills
