JOB DESCRIPTION : VOICE TEACHER (ON-CAMPUS)
Position Summary : Voice Teachers at Point Blank Music School educate students effectively to prepare them for success as singers in the modern music industry. They teach classes as assigned by the Chief Academic Officer and follow the curriculum and guidelines presented in Point Blank’s Virtual Learning Environment (VLE). They prioritize the student experience and implement established policies and procedures designed to provide excellent vocal instruction, ensuring the institution achieves its mission.
Reports to : Chief Academic Officer (CAO)
Specific duties and responsibilities :
- Plan, prepare, and deliver class instruction utilizing the prescribed course curriculum hosted on the VLE for courses such as Singing, Advanced Singing, Vocal Musicianship, Showcase, Studio Vocal Production, etc.
- Follow the VLE’s lesson plan structure for instructor-led topics, in-class student exercises, and project-based homework assignments, unless deviations are approved
- Utilize appropriate learning materials and resources where necessary to supplement lessons
- Participate in curriculum development by completing course evaluations at the end of each term
- Monitor student attendance and progress; assess student work and record grades as directed by the CAO according to established grading criteria
- Attend teacher training and professional development sessions and other required institutional activities
- Understand, implement, monitor, and fairly enforce all relevant institutional policies and procedures
- Maintain a thorough knowledge of the school’s mission and educational objectives and strive to attain them at all times
- Within 30 days of employment, gain working knowledge of all policies pertaining to course requirements, learning outcomes, satisfactory academic progress, grading criteria, attendance, standards of conduct, and incoming student evaluations
